Robotics
Overview
The excel academe robotics course is meant to bring students through the journey of developing their own robot and what steps to take. Techniques regarding CAD, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, Tools, and other topics are covered. On top of this general engineering tips and specific competitions are gone over to give students the best chances for success.

Class requirements : Access to zoom, must download OnShape or some CAD software for practice (OnShape is free).
CURRICULUM
Going over the engineering design process, common mechanisms with their pros and cons, and how to prototype well in robotics.
Introduction into 3d modeling to give the ability for students to create precise machinery.
Methods of Manufacturing/Material Sciences –> Introduces students to different types of manufacturing machines the properties of certain materials with their pros and cons.
Students will learn when certain fasteners are appropriate and assembly tips.
Students will learn about the basics of electrical engineering and its application into robotics.
Students will learn basic programming concepts and have demos of program use.
General tips during competition –> Students will learn about strategies and data analytics in competitions and how it can help a team thrive
